A charge is an intangible (usually) entity that cannot be carried in inventory. Examples include service fees, discounts, feature charges, shipping & handling fees, configuration/setup/installation fees, etc. charges can be associated with services and price lists. A charge can be configured as a one-time or a recurring fee.
New charges can be created from the Actions box (1) on the screen below and assigned to a category.
The Search box (2) allows users to filter the list of charges a search string, or by category.
The Import box (3) provides links to import charges and charge-subcharges into the catalog.
The Configuration box (not shown) provides links to configure custom fields for both the catalog-charge and subscription-charge objects. This can also be done from the respective custom-field menu items on the Administration menu screen.
Charges can be combined together with other charges, services and/or products inside price lists.
To create a new product, follow the procedure below:
Once a new charge has been created, users may associate various mandatory and/or optional sub-charges to the charge as they deem appropriate by clicking on the Add Sub-Charge link.
Charges and their associated sub-charges can be entered manually, or imported in batches from a set of .csv files.
It is possible to customize the information collected about charges by creating custom fields. Custom fields can be created and configured to apply either to all charges, or to charges within a specific category.
